Dover Athletic have moved to fill the void left by the departures of Ricky Miller and Ross Lafayette by signing Jamie Allen from Southport.

The club's website revealed that Whites boss Chris Kinnear has signed the 21-year-old for an undisclosed figure on a two-year deal.

Allen was Southport's leading marksman this season scoring 10 times in 35 games and has previously found the net at Crabble, having scored for Southport during a 2-1 win against the Whites in March last year.

Allen moved to Southport from Fleetwood Town two years ago after making five senior appearances for the Cod Army. He marked his Football League debut by scoring at Northampton Town - a goal that was later voted as the club’s goal of the season in 2012/13.

Allen, who has also enjoyed loan spells with AFC Fylde and Stalybridge Celtic, is the first new forward to arrive at Crabble following the loss of Miller, to League 1 Peterborough and Lafayette, to Sutton.
