Stolen dog is reunited with its owner

Mischka the missing dog

A dog reported stolen at West Langdon has been found again.

Police were told that the five-year-old German short-haired pointer called Mischka, had been stolen while being walked in a field off Sutton Road on Tuesday afternoon. It was off the lead and ran towards a hedgerow.

The dog’s owner saw a small white van stop on the nearby road. The driver is reported to have got out of the vehicle, picked up the dog and put it in the van which was said to have small windows in the side. The van was driven off towards Whitfield before the dog’s owner could get to the road.

But today, police said the owner had been reunited with his pet after it was seen running along the road with a rope around its neck. Enquiries are continuing.
