The manager of a charity shop on Deal High Street will be stripping off in the window display to raise awareness of the need for donations.
Joan Bull, 53, has been manager of the British Red Cross shop since it opened two years ago and will be taking off her kit to help promote the charity.
Mrs Bull said: “Normally after Christmas we get a lot of presents that people don’t want, but now they have websites where you can sell your unwanted goods .
“In this economic climate people are recycling their clothes less and less which means that we’re not getting the level of stock we used to.”
She explained that when she looked at the naked shelves, she thought the only way to highlight this would be to get naked herself. Draped discreetly in a sheet, the manager will be posing in the window on Saturday, January 25 from 11am until noon.
She said: “In this day and age we’ve got to make things stand out."
Unwanted gifts, children’s clothing, toys and games, men’s and women’s clothing, accessories, bric a brac or textiles are just some of the items which can be donated to the shop.
