The sea wall at Kingsdown promenade has collapsed in severe storm weather
A section of the sea wall at Kingsdown promenade has collapsed due to severe stormy weather conditions.
The concrete collapsed in on itself earlier this afternoon, on a popular part of the promenade between the Lifeboat House and the Zetland Arms.
The owner of the Lifeboat House spotted the collapse and tried to secure it with rope.
Daniel Couzens, of North Road and a campaigner for better sea defences at Kingsdown, said: "It's like a dominoes affect, once one wall goes the others follow. It's a real worry what's going to happen next with this weather and high tides continuing.
"It's a real danger."
Kingsdown Angling Club also erected a red flag to warn people of the hazard.
Dover District Council was contacted and later came to tape up the railings but the danger remains.
A group of campaigners are currently working for better sea defences at Kingsdown beach following various incidents and collapses.
