Chelmsford City 1 Dover Athletic 1

Dover Athletic and Chelmsford City must do it all again at
Crabble on Tuesday night after drawing 1-1 in Saturday's FA Trophy
third qualifying round tie in Essex.
Manager Nicky Forster made one change to the starting line-up
who had been 3-0 winners at Eastbourne Borough the previous
weekend, with Jamie Smith preferred to Barry Cogan on the left
wing.
Chelmsford started the brighter and should have taken the lead
on 29 minutes when they were awarded a penalty after Danny Webb
obstructed Jamie Slabber with his arm but Dave Rainsford fired his
spot kick against the bar.
And Whites took the lead against the run of play shortly before
half-time when Ben May's shot was saved by Stuart Searle but Ricky
Modeste (pictured) pounced on the rebound to score his first goal
for Dover against his former club.
The opening stages of the second half were more evenly balanced
but Chelmsford finally scored the goal their efforts deserved on 66
minutes when captain Kenny Clark bundled the ball home.
Billy Bricknell had the chance to regain Dover's lead after
finding himself in space but the substitute scuffed his shot
straight into Searle's hands.
