Eastbourne Borough 0 Dover Athletic 3

Barry Cogan

Dover swept past Eastbourne on Saturday to extend their unbeaten away record and close in on the Blue Square Bet South play-off places.

Barry Cogan (pictured) put the Whites in front on 18 minutes, forcing the ball home after Calum Willock’s header had come back off the bar.

The visitors were awarded a penalty seven minutes into the second half when Ian Simpemba was fouled by Eastbourne goalkeeper Nick Jordan. Ben May scored for the seventh game running when his spot-kick went in via the underside of the bar.

Willock put the result beyond doubt when he made it 3-0 18 minutes from time.

Dover have now picked up 17 of a possible 21 points away from Crabble this season.

They sit sixth in Blue Square Bet South, just two points behind second-placed Chelmsford City.
