Dover Athletic boss Chris Kinnear ready for tough month ahead

By Kevin Redsull
Manager Chris Kinnear has called on
his Dover side to continue what they have been doing since his
return to Crabble as they tackle a crucial month.
Whites begin a busy four weeks –
during which they will play eight matches – with a home game
against Bath City on Saturday.
Athletic extended their unbeaten
run under Kinnear to four matches in Blue Square Bet South with
Saturday’s 1-1 draw at Boreham Wood and the new Dover boss said:
"This is going to be a key month and test the strength of the
squad.
"But we’ve just got to keep going
and if everyone keeps pulling in the same direction, like they have
so far, then we won’t go far wrong."
With skipper Ian Simpemba likely to
receive a three-match ban following his sending-off late in the
game at Boreham Wood, Kinnear would probably like to bring in
another central defender.
Kinnear (pictured) said:
"Simpemba will be a big loss and we are talking about things with
the chairman but we will just have to cope with it whatever."
The situation regarding Daryl
McMahon seems more encouraging, even though the midfielder was one
of the unused substitutes at Boreham
Wood.
McMahon has been to see a
specialist who has provided him with some raised insteps to be worn
inside his boots and which will hopefully help him play through his
current foot problem.
