Chris Kinnear got off to a winning start in his second spell as
Dover Athletic manager with a 3-2 home win over Truro City on
Saturday.
But the former Margate boss, who replaced Nicky Forster at
Crabble last month, saw his new charges make hard work of disposing
of their Blue Square South bottom-of-the-table visitors despite
leading 3-0 at half-time.
Defender Tyrone Sterling, making his Dover debut, headed Whites
in front after just six minutes and it looked plain sailing for the
hosts when Ian Simpemba and Callum Willock added further goals
before the break.
But, with Dover having lost their previous five matches, their
brittle confidence was exposed as Truro staged a determined
fightback.
The Cornish side struck twice in four minutes early in the
second half through Cody Cooke and Kieffer Moore and Dover then had
to endure some nervy moments before securing their first victory
since mid-December.
The victory keeps the Whites third in the table.
