Dover Athletic manager Chris Kinnear preparing for tough game against high-flying Welling United

Chris Kinnear knows that his
honeymoon period back in charge of Dover Athletic could come to a
swift end this weekend.
After opening his second spell in charge of Whites with a 3-2
win over Truro City, Kinnear’s side face a much more difficult test
on Saturday with the visit of high-flying Welling United to
Crabble.
Jamie Day’s second-placed team set
a Blue Square Bet South record of 11 straight victories with last
Saturday’s 3-2 success over Dorchester and the Wings followed it up
a 4-0 win over Boreham Wood on Tuesday.
Kinnear (pictured greeting the
Crabble fans before kick-off on Saturday) said: "I’ve seen Welling
play a few times and they are a decent side.
"Jamie Day and his coaching staff
have been there a number of years and have a built a side who are
capable of winning the title.
"It takes time to build a side who
can play the way you want them to play and Jamie has got that
now."
Kinnear, in contrast, has been back
at Crabble for only three weeks during which time the start of his
re-building process has been restricted both by the weather and by
a long absentee list.
Chris Sessegnon limped off in the
second half against Truro but Kinnear is hoping the wing-back will
be fit for Saturday along with striker Billy Bricknell and
midfielder Steve Thomson (chest infections).
However, defender Shane Huke faces
a further six weeks in plaster due to his metatarsal problem.
