Danny Herriott sets his sights on a place in this summer's IRB Junior World Championships

By Kevin Redsull
Danny Herriott believes he has done
enough to win a place in the England under-20 rugby squad for this
summer’s IRB Junior World Championship.
Although he didn’t come off the
replacements’ bench in England’s 28-15 win over Wales at Colwyn Bay
on Saturday, which clinched a third successive Under-20 Six Nations
title, Herriott figured in England’s four other games.
That included playing for half an hour
in the 52-7 win over Italy at Franklins Gardens, the home ground of
his club, Northampton Saints, earlier this month.
Herriott (pictured) said: "That
was the highlight of the Six Nations for me, especially as I got a
couple of penalty tries after I came on."
Looking ahead to the Junior World
Championship, which will be held in France in June, the former Deal
& Betteshanger player said: "I have got a good chance of making
the squad and hopefully I will get a bit more game time in
France."
The squad will be announced in early May and by then Herriott is
likely to have made a decision about his club future.
