Why should people vote for me?
Andy Stamp has served the people of Gillingham and Rainham as an elected Councillor for over a decade, and is Medway Labour Group’s Regeneration and Communities spokesperson.

Andy was born in Gillingham, grew up in the area and went to local schools. Andy graduated from the University of Nottingham with a Geography degree and he currently works as a Senior Environmental Regulator.

Andy continues to campaign for much-needed regeneration and investment in our local High Streets, which have been hit by huge hikes in parking charges and neglected by the Conservative-run Medway Council.

Andy has also been a tireless campaigner against the Council’s cuts to local Sure Start Children’s Centres, Libraries and Leisure Centres and is backing our local hospital and the staff who work there to protect the future of the NHS.

Fun fact:
Andy volunteers for local CLIC Sargent Charity Fundraising Group Danny’s Angels, and has helped raise more than £110,000 for children and young people with cancer during the past 5 years. Despite being afraid of heights, he has completed a charity skydive and ran the 2016 London marathon.

Unelected forces such as big banks and mega corporations control much of the real power. The obsession with private profit is ruining our public services. We need a quantum shift in the way we vote and run our politics and financial systems. I support proportional representation and a chance for real democracy.

Fun fact:
Clive is also a musician (bass) who has played in a number of bands and has two solo albums to his name.

As your MP I would campaign to:

  • reinstate the Mental Health unit at Medway hospital.
  • ensure all schools in Medway are ranked GOOD.
  • set up a register of approved private landlords to protect tenants.
  • ensure the right mix of affordable and social housing on all developments.
  • free/subsidised travel for 16-19 yr olds

As a strong voice for Gillingham & Rainham locally and in Parliament, I am asking for your support to continue fighting your corner alongside Prime Minister Theresa May who will provide the strong and stable leadership our country needs.

I am proud of my local record. I helped secure over £40 million in investment to drive regeneration across Medway, creating jobs and opportunities for residents as well as securing £18m investment for Medway Hospital and over £11m for Medway University Technical College. Education and healthcare are very important to me and I have campaigned hard to ensure our local schools give every child the best start..

I always take into account the views of constituents, which is why I voted Leave in the EU Referendum and I am sure that you agree it is vital that we have a strong leader to help secure the best deal for our country in the EU negotiations and beyond.

Under a Conservative Government the local area has seen an increase in jobs, businesses, apprenticeships and high economic growth. I have championed this at every level and even brought the then Chancellor to visit MEMS and Gills FC

Why should people vote for me?
The main reason I think the electorate of Gillingham and Rainham should vote for me in this election is because I see all the big issues as symptoms of the problem - not the underlying problem itself! We are still a Christian Nation. We are all so conditioned to the dogma of economic growth and wealth creation that we neglect our fundamental, fully human, spiritual character. We have had the eternal problem of good against evil throughout our long history. The present situation can and will be resolved by the British people, not the government. With the right attitude and the necessary love of God we will establish the correct balance for a healthier and wealthier Nation. Implicit in the CPA manifesto for a truly United Kingdom.

Once again, UKIP’s Manifesto is full of realistic and fully-costed policies, covering everything from national security and the economy to the proper funding of public services, including social care.

It looks quite radical compared to the same, tired policies being offered by Labour and the Conservatives, many of which have failed abysmally in the past.

However, really, it is mostly just plain common sense, with some straightforward tests to make sure we get a clean break from the EU and a clear vision of how Britain can prosper once we regain our independence.

There are also proposals to address some of the fundamental problems with the democratic process itself. UKIP would reform the first past the post system, replace the unelected House of Lords with a (much smaller) English Parliament and tackle postal vote fraud.

The full Manifesto can be found at www.ukip.org, with an introduction to the main policies on page 5. No doubt, the other parties will be copying our best ideas over the next 5-10 years, but you don’t need to wait for them to catch up. If you believe in Britain, British values and real Brexit, vote for UKIP on 8th June.

Fun fact:
I run a social club which visits some of the best pubs in London.
