Faversham: Police called after man acts aggressively towards staff

A man has been detained by police officers after allegedly acting aggressively towards train station staff.

Police were called shortly after 11am and are still at Faversham railway station where the incident took place.

A neighbour living in The Mall towards the back of the station reported that they were being asked to stay indoors as officers dealt with the situation.

A British Transport Police (BTP) spokesman said: “We were called to Faversham station shortly after 11am on Wednesday, June 22 following reports of a male acting aggressively.

“Two off duty police officers initially assisted station staff before BTP attended alongside Kent Police.

Police have been at the scene for the last hour.

“A man has been detained by officers as enquiries continue.”
