Shocking pictures show the aftermath of a five-car crash on the M2.

A rear of a Mercedes has been destroyed and a Volkswagen van has also been heavily damaged.

The incident, which reportedly hasn't resulted in any serious injuries, happened between Junction 6 and Junction 7 coastbound at about 7am this morning.

Paramedics and police arrived at the scene and officers controlled traffic.

Two people were taken to hospital before both lanes were reopened just after 8.30am.
