Hand grenade found by metal detectors in field in Sheldwich

A bomb disposal team was called in after a hand grenade was found in a field in Sheldwich.

Experts from the Ministry of Defence and police officers were called to Lees Court Road at around 11am yesterday

It is believed a group of people with metal detectors discovered the unexploded device and called the police.

The device had been safely detonated by 3.55pm.
