Faversham MP Helen Whatley calls for fruit pickers visa

A fall in the number of fruit pickers coming to Kent has led to reduced production and pushed up prices for consumers.

The latest figures show fruit prices have gone up by 7.2%, far higher than inflation, which stands at of 2.7%.

There's is growing concern among Kent's farmers, prompting Faversham MP Helen Whatley to raise the issue of special visas for fruit pickers in parliament.
