Thanet Way suffers queues coastbound between Faversham and Whitstable after van overturns closing one lane

An overturned van caused delays on the coastbound Thanet Way between Faversham and Whitstable this morning.

The accident occurred near the Staplestreet turn-off at just after 7.30am, and police closed the inside lane, which has now been reopened.

Three ambulances attended the scene while the Kent and Sussex Air Ambulance landed in a field next to the road.

Queues stretched back to the Brenley Corner roundabout, but have now cleared.
