A woman has been taken to hospital following a crash on the M2 this morning.

Police were called just before 9am to the single car accident on the coastbound carriageway between junction 5 at Sittingbourne and junction 6 at Faversham.

The woman - who was driving a silver Peugeot 206 and was the only person in the car - was taken to hospital as a precaution.

The accident left the road partially blocked.
