Faversham boss Ray Turner has hailed his side’s devastating form ahead of their derby clash against Whitstable this weekend.

Saturday’s derby sees the Oystermen face a Lilywhites side sat joint-top with Burgess Hill after six straight league wins in Ryman League Division 1 South.

Saturday’s 4-0 win at South Park meant Town have scored 18 goals and conceded just four in that spell, while Whitstable themselves have scored 15 in their last five games, conceding seven times.

Turner said: "I am looking forward to the game. I am enjoying seeing the direction the club is going in and it should be good to see the ground full. Whitstable are sure to bring some numbers and be vocal.

"We have some talented players on show and the game should be good entertainment.

"Both teams like to score goals and we have looked devastating lately. Now we have cut down on the goals conceded."

Whitstable dented third-placed Folkestone’s promotion hopes with a 3-2 win on the road two weeks ago and hope to mastermind a similar outcome at Faversham.

Turner warned: "Whitstable have been going well. We have got to concentrate on doing our
jobs.

"We laid out a plan a little while ago, setting some short term little goals – that’s the best way of us achieving what we want to.

"The goal was to go back to the top after the home game against Chipstead (Tuesday, 7.45pm)."
