Do you know how grow vegetables and fruit? Could you show someone else how?

National charity Garden Organic's Master Gardener programme is now recruiting 20 additional lively volunteers with a passion for sharing their knowledge in the Medway area.

Volunteers will join 20 current Master Gardeners, advising, supporting and encouraging Medway residents to have a try at growing some of their own food.

There is no need to be an expert - full training is given.

All we ask is that you live in the Medway area, have at least a couple of years of food growing experience and are keen to share your knowledge.

Volunteers need to attend a local induction weekend on Saturday, March 1 and Sunday, March 2.

Garden Organic offers bespoke training, support of a co-ordinator, an interactive website, tee-shirt, manual and organic growing techniques.

Already the Medway volunteers are helping 35 households and have had more than 1,300 conversations about food growing at events and workshops in the community.

Volunteers are asked to commit to 30 hours, at a time to suit them, over 12 months. That's about half a day a month.
