Balaclava burglars harm man, 80s, in attempted Cauldham Lane raid

A man in his 80s was injured when raiders in balaclavas tried to smash their way into his home.

The attempted burglary happened in Cauldham Lane in Capel-le-Ferne at about 11.15pm on Thursday, November 16, sparking a police manhunt.

The victim suffered a minor head injury when the intruders tried to force their way in through the front door.

The three suspects, who were wearing dark clothing, had also tried to get into the main house via the kitchen.

They fled empty-handed along Capel Street.

It is believed they were wearing balaclavas and one was described as black, 5ft 9 and of slim build.
