Fire at house in Brabner Close in Folkestone as firefighters called to put out flames

Crews tackled a house fire in Folkestone, which is thought to have been caused by an overloaded electrical extension.

The blaze broke out just after 11.30am at a two-storey house and two fire engines were sent to the scene in Brabner Close.

Flames broke out in an upstairs room with firefighters covering the blaze with two jets of water.

A positive pressure ventilation fan was also used to clear smoke from the house.

Crews left the scene after half an hour.
