Burger King in Cherry Garden Avenue, Folkestone to close

A national fast food chain store is leaving Folkestone today.

Burger King in Cherry Garden Avenue will be closed tomorrow, after its last day of trading today.

A member of staff at the Cheriton store, next to the Brickfield Tavern and Premier Inn, confirmed that staff were informed of the closure with four weeks' notice.

There are 19 members of staff at the outlet, just off of the M20.

The employee was unable to confirm if staff will be relocated or the reasons for the closure.

There are two other branches in Folkestone in Bouverie Place shopping centre and the Eurotunnel.

Recent data collect by KentOnline revealed that there are 19 branches of Burger King in Kent.

Combined, there are 192 stores of Caffe Nero, Starbucks, Costa,, McDonald's, Burger King and KFC in our county.

Burger King's national office has been approached for comment about the Cheriton branch closure.
