A car caught fire after a crash on the M20 coastbound between J11 and J11a near the Eurotunnel

The M20 was temporarily blocked this morning when a car caught fire after a crash.

The vehicle went up in flames in the middle lane of the coastbound road between J11 and J11a near the Eurotunnel.

Fire crews were at the scene at 5.35am and sent two pumps to put out the blaze.

A Kent Police spokesman said: "It was reported to us at 5.24am.

"The driver had a minor collision with central reservation.

"The driver exited his vehicle and waited for police and KFRS to arrive.

"Fire crews put the fire out and the carriageway was clear again shortly after 6am."

There were no other vehicles involved and luckily, no one was injured.
