Star Wars, Harry Potter and Doctor Who fans enjoy Folkestone comic-con

Hundreds of sci-fi fans are enjoying the annual Folkestone comic-con event this weekend.

Hosted for the fifth year, the popular gathering has taken up residence in the Leas Cliff Hall for the first time.

Dozens of stalls showcasing merchandise from Harry Potter, E.T, Star Trek and host of other franchises have lined the venue.

A giant replica of The Stay Puft Marshmallow Man from Ghostbusters has taken centre stage and devoted fans have donned their favourite costumes.

Among the guests are Star Wars actor Jeremy Bulloch, who played fans' favourite bounty hunter Boba Fett.

Other celebrity guests include former Doctor Who stars Peter Davison and Janet Fielding, and Harry Potter actor Guy Henry.

Cash raised will go towards Help for Heroes.

The event continues tomorrow from 10am until 4pm.

Tickets cost £10 for adults and £5 for children.
