Kimberley Flaherty charged after Folkestone burglaries

A 24-year-old woman is to appear in court charged in connection with two distraction burglaries.

The incidents took place in Folkestone at properties in Princess Street on Saturday, June 9, and in Rossendale Gardens on Tuesday, June 12.

Kimberley Flaherty, of Clarence Street, was charged today with two counts of burglary.

She is also suspected to have caused criminal damage at a business in Wood Avenue last month.

The 24-year-old was also charged with theft and a public order offence after she was accused of threatening behaviour and stealing from a supermarket in Hythe on Wednesday, June 20.

Flaherty was remanded in custody after appearing via virtual link at Medway Magistrates' Court today.

She is also due to attend Thanet Magistrates' Court on Tuesday for the alleged criminal damage, theft and public order offences.

She will then be tried at Canterbury Crown Court on Thursday, July 24, in connection with the burglaries.
