Incidents at Cheriton High Street and Dover Hill adding to Folkestone traffic nightmare in light of Operation Stack

Drivers are told to expect more disruption around Folkestone after two separate incidents.

Motorists are already suffering from long delays around the town due to Operation Stack being enforced last night.

But crashes on Cheriton High Street and another incident in Dover Hill near Capel-le-Ferne are adding to the misery.

The traffic signals at the Cheriton High Street junction with Risborough Lane were hit and damaged at 11.52am.

Fire crews were called to the scene after reports of a fuel leak on the road.

Drivers are being asked to approach with caution until the lights are fixed.

But traffic is still flowing around that area.

The second incident is at Dover Hill and is causing disruption to traffic in the eastern part of the town.

Bus company Stagecoach warned its customers to expect delays on its services in the area.
