Kent Fire and Rescue Service tackled tractor blaze on the A20 in Postling

Firefighters tackled a huge tractor blaze on the A20,in Postling last night (Friday).

Crews came from Folkestone and Ashford to help extinguish the flames at 6.30pm.

Luckily the driver avoided injury as he jumped out the vehicle when the engine started smoking.

Just moments later the whole tractor had gone up in flames.

A spokesman for Kent Fire and Rescue Service, said: "When we got there it was really burning and the tyres exploded.

"We couldn't put it out with just water so we had to use the onboard foam system.

"Ashford then had to join us because we were running out of water, it really did go up."

The road was closed in both directions for half an hour.

Police attended to assist with traffic control.

No one was injured.
