Helicopter hunt after driver stopped on M20 coastbound near the Junction 11a Channel Tunnel turnoff

Police used a helicopter to hunt a man today.

It was a driver who had left on foot when officers pulled his vehicle over.

The vehicle had at first failed to stop for police on the M20 near Folkestone.

A Kent Police spokesman said: “Two passengers inside the car were detained by officers at the scene.

“The driver left on foot and a search of the area with assistance from the police helicopter was carried out but officers were unable to locate him.”

The car had been stopped on the coastbound M20, near the Junction 11a Channel Tunnel turnoff, shortly before 10.50am .
