Power cut: Homes in Folkestone area affected by power cut

Engineers are working to restore power to homes in the Folkestone area.

A fault is thought to have occurred in electrical equipment supplying homes and businesses in the CT19 5 postcode.

The outage, affecting homes in Mead Road and Albion Road, happened at 5.15am.

It is hoped supply should be back to normal by 9.30am.

A spokesman for UK Power Networks said: "UK Power Networks engineers are on site working to restore electricity supplies to customers in the Mead Road and Albion Road area of Folkestone after a power interruption at 5.15am today (July 7).

"We would like to apologise to customers for any inconvenience caused and reassure them we are working to restore their supplies as quickly as possible."
