Man dies jumping from window as police went to arrest him in George Lane, Folkestone

A man has died after jumping from a window while trying to flee police.

The suspect plunged from the second floor of the building in George Lane, Folkestone, as officers were trying to get inside to arrest him.

The drama unfolded at 10.30pm yesterday.

The man was taken to hospital by ambulance with serious injuries, but has since died.

The incident has been referred to the Independent Office for Police Conduct to investigate.
