Police appeal after man hit by van in Cheriton Road, Folkestone

A pedestrian has been left with a serious leg injury after being hit by a van as he got out of his car.

The victim, a man in his 60s, had just parked his car in Cheriton Road near the junction with Quested Road when he was struck by a white flatbed van.

The van driver did not stop, and instead continued travelling along Cheriton Road and turned left into Marler Road.

The man was taken to hospital with a serious leg injury following the incident, which happened between 7.20pm and 7.25pm on Saturday, March 31.

Sergeant Darren Manktelow said: "As part of our enquiries, it’s important that we trace the driver of the flatbed van as we would like to speak to them.

"I also ask that anyone who was in the area and either saw the collision or have dashcam footage which could assist our investigation, calls us on 01843 222289 quoting 31-1008."
