Daniel Brown, from Folkestone, and Terence Grice, from Canterbury, jailed for stabbing and abduction

A man was stabbed four times and slashed across the face during a terrifying knifepoint abduction.

Harry Waterman feared for his life after he was lured to an address in Folkestone, where Daniel Brown and Terence Grice were lying in wait.

The pair - both armed with knives - demanded money from Waterman before slashing his face and forcing him to drive to a remote part of the town.

There, he was knifed four times in the leg by Brown, spraying blood across his van.

He only escaped after he convinced his abductors there was cash at his aunt's house and managed to lock himself inside.

The traumatised victim told a jury at Canterbury Crown Court that he feared he would be killed during the abduction in November.

Prosecutor Claire Cooper told the court Brown slashed the victim's face before forcing him to drive to a secluded place in Folkestone.

She continued: "Brown then stabbed Mr Waterman in the leg four times in quick succession, leaving a 2cm wound which needed hospital treatment.

“There was blood in the van and when Brown was arrested specks of Mr Waterman’s blood were found on his jogging bottoms.

"Mr Waterman convinced the two there was money at his aunt’s address and they drove him there and he was frogmarched to the front door with a knife in his back."

Ms Cooper said at the house the victim barged inside, closed the door and called the police.

"The defendants then drove away but they were arrested nearby and the van was found – with Mr Waterman’s mobile phone and belongings still inside."

Mr Waterman later revealed he was terrified and thought they were going to kill him.

Brown, 28, of Warren Close, Folkestone, was convicted by a jury of kidnapping, wounding with intent, theft and attempted robbery. He was given an extended jail sentence of 10 years with an extra four years to be served on licence when he is released.

Judge Heather Norton told them: "You lured the victim to an address. Once there, Grice got into the van with a knife and so did Brown and Mr Waterman was at your mercy.

"Brown stabbed him in the leg and cut him in the head. He only escaped when he pretended he had some money at an aunt's where he managed to escape.

"This was planned and you were armed and your victim was threatened."
