Emergency services were called to the collision involving a Mercedes and Citroen Saxo outside the service entrance of the Eurotunnel terminal on the A20 near Folkestone.

Fire crews pulled the man out of the car after he was left stuck inside and wedged between the seat and the dashboard.

A spokesman from Folkestone fire station said: "The damage was quite bad but the injuries weren't too bad.

"We took him out on a long board as a precaution."

They added the occupants of the Mercedes - two adults and four children aged between four and 12 - were out of the vehicle when crews arrived.

A spokesman for South East Coast Ambulance said: "All seven patients were taken to William Harvey Hospital as priorities.

"No one was seriously injured but there were some young children involved.

"Two adults were complaining about back and arm pain.

"A 12-year-old girl was placed on a long board for potential spinal injuries."
