Folkestone men in cat-themed charity calendar shoot raising money for RSPCA Garden Cattery in Ashford

A dozen men from Folkestone have posed for an unusual cat-themed calendar which they hope will prove the purr-fect fundraising idea.

Proceeds from each sale of the Cats on the Prowl 2015 Calendar will go directly to the RSPCA Garden Cattery in Ashford which helps by rehoming kittens and cats.

The calendar was organised by Folkestone cat-lover Chantal Jackman, who said: “We had a lot of fun putting it together and bringing the guys in who kindly donated their time to us.

“We all feel a tremendous appreciation of what the volunteers do at the Garden Cattery in Ashford and this was a great, fun way of raising money for them.

“We have met some lovely cats with not a diva tantrum in sight – except Betty who needed to mark her place in the studio.”

Each month features a new model posing with a cat, or dressed up as one or with their face or body painted by Billious Hoyle. Photos were taken by Sandgate-based photographer Albane McGuinness.

Joey Deem, one of the models, said: “Having two cats of my own, I know what a fantastic pet they can be – providing they don’t tear up your furniture!

“That’s why I wanted to do the calendar; cats have always been a part of my life and any charity that helps look after and rehome cats is worth raising money for.”
