Police release two efits of men in connection with Hawkinge assault at Lidl in Haven Drive

An appeal for witnesses has been launched by police after an assault at a Hawkinge supermarket.

A 20-year-old man was attacked at the Lidl store in Haven Drive on Tuesday, October 15 at 5.25pm while queuing at a till.

Another till opened and the man went to change queues.

But the man in the queue behind him got there first and an argument broke out.

The victim was then punched in the face several times before the offender pulled the victim's top over his head to stop him seeing him.

He then continued to punch him in the back of the head before fleeing.

He was seen getting into a dark-coloured saloon driven by another man.

The suspect is described as white, stocky and in his early 40s and approximately 5ft 9in tall with a local accent and short grey hair and unshaven face with stubble.

He was wearing dark clothes.
