Pensioner injured in alleged Folkestone town centre robbery

Police are appealing for information after an 81-year-old woman was reportedly robbed in Folkestone town centre.

The pensioner fell to the ground and suffered a broken wrist during the struggle in Guildhall Street North last night (Saturday).

The man made off with two carrier bags, one containing a newspaper and milk and the other £40 cash and other personal belongings.

Officers are keen to hear from witnesses or anyone else with information about who may be responsible for the incident, which happened around 7pm.

The man is described as white, aged 20 to 30, with facial stubble and about 5ft 11in. He was wearing dark clothing including a body-warmer.
