Pregnant Samantha Murrum hid wraps of heroin inside her

A pregnant mother-of-two who was deeply in debt and addicted to class A drugs hid heroin inside her body.

Now the woman from Folkestone has been jailed for three years after police found 76 wraps of heroin hidden inside her.

They also uncovered nine wraps in her shoe and cocaine in her socks.

At the same time her partner Daniel Skinner had almost 100 wraps of cocaine and heroin inside his underpants, Canterbury Crown Court was told.

Samantha Murrum, 24 and Skinner, 31, admitted possessing class A drugs with intent to supply.

Skinner was jailed for a total of four-and-a-half years for the drugs offence and for breaching a suspended prison sentence.

Bartholomew O’Toole, prosecuting, said on June 28 police stopped a car with four people inside.

The driver and front seat passenger had no drugs but offices saw Murrum, who was in the back with Skinner, try to hide something.

They were arrested and taken to a police station where they were searched and the drugs were found.

The court was told that Murrum, of Broadmead Road, had amassed 15 convictions since June, 2012, mainly for shoplifting.

Skinner was in breach of a two-year suspended prison sentence for possessing drugs with intent to supply.

Oliver Kirk, defending Skinner, of no fixed address, said he had a significant history of drug misuse and supplied drugs which he was also addicted to.

“He and Murrum have an addictive relationship and have fallen back into drug misuse,” Mr Kirk said.

He added that both were in debt because of drugs and had been assaulted because of these debts. Skinner had both arms broken which had caused ongoing medical problems.

He added: “Skinner is remorseful and realises he has sunk to the lowest level. He intends to use his time in custody to make sure this does not happen again.”

Puneet Rai, defending Murrum, said that when Skinner was assaulted Murrum, who is five months pregnant, was hit in the stomach with a baseball bat.

“Her role was limited and she is addicted to class A drugs,” Miss Rai said. She said Murrum also had a child of eight and one of five.
