Suspected murder victim Joe Daniels' partner issues witness appeal

The grief-stricken partner of a pub landlord killed in a shooting has today issued an appeal for information on social media.

Milena Goff, partner of the Red Cow boss Joe Daniels, said she had "no words for this evil person" who gunned him down, and urged anyone with information to call police.

A murder investigation was launched yesterday after the 58-year-old was found shot dead in his Foord Road pub in Folkestone on Wednesday.

Posting on the Shepway Watch group on Facebook, Ms Goff said: "My heart is broken.

"Why would anyone want to hurt this beautiful man?

"Our future taken I have no words for this evil person who has done this to my beautiful Joe.

"Please if anyone saw or heard anything please contact the police. Our family is broken."

Detectives say they have "not ruled out third party involvement".

Officers found Mr Daniels unresponsive in his pub at 11.30am with gunshot wounds. He died at the scene and a firearm was recovered.

Detectives want to hear from motorists with dashboard cameras who travelled around the pub, which is near the junction of Black Bull Road, between 8am and 11.30am on Wednesday.

Senior investigating officer Detective Chief Inspector Richard Vickery said: “We are continuing to carry out enquiries into the circumstances behind Mr Daniels’ death and cannot yet rule out any third party involvement.

“A review of any available video evidence forms a vital part of every murder investigation and that includes any footage that may have been picked up by dashboard cameras.

“I would strongly encourage anyone with footage, no matter how mundane it may first appear, to call the appeal line on 01843 222289 quoting reference 22-0452.

"People with information can also call Kent Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.”
