Teenage boy found dead in Folkestone is named

A 16-year-old-boy who died in Folkestone has been named as Thomas Nathan Townsend.

An inquest opened into the unexplained death of the teenager, which happened at a house in Millfield on Saturday, August 29.

Paramedics and police rushed to the house near the town centre while the air ambulance landed in nearby Radnor Park around 7pm.

Coroner’s officer Guy Miller told the hearing that a staff member at the house went in to see if the teenager wanted to play Xbox.

Thomas was then discovered collapsed on his knees against the bed, leaning forward.

The cause of death is “pending analysis”.

Christine Freedman, assistant coroner for Central and South East Kent, at Folkestone Magistrates Court, adjourned the inquest.
