Two teenage girls injured in alleged assault in Harbour Way, Folkestone

Two teenage girls have been taken to hospital after street attacks in the early hours.

Police remain at the scene of the alleged assaults, which left one of the victims with a serious head injury.

Police were called to Harbour Way in Folkestone at 2.10am after a woman in her late teens suffered an injury to her face. She was taken to a local hospital.

Paramedics then told officers a second teenage girl had been attacked in a disturbance in nearby Dover Road at 4.40am.

She was taken to a London hospital with a serious head injury.

A 39-year-old man from Folkestone was arrested and remains in custody.

Police remain at the scene of both incidents - which are being linked - while they try to establish what happened.

Witnesses who were in either Harbour Way or Dover Road between 2am and 4.30am and might have seen something are asked to call police on 01843 222289 quoting 13-104, or Crimestoppers, anonymously on 0800 555111.
