Washing catches fire at laundrette in The Old High Street Folkestone

Firefighters were called out when clothes inside a laundrette tumbledryer went ablaze.

Crews were called just before 4.10pm yesterday to the premises at The Old High Street, Folkestone.

A Folkestone Fire Station spokesman said: “The washing was burned but the fire did not spread because it was contained within the metal tumbledryer.

“It was a small fire but we don’t know what caused it.”
