A woman has this morning been cut free from the wreckage of her car by firefighters after a crash involving two cars in Hythe.

Two fire crews from Folkestone and Hythe were called to the scene in Princes Parade at 8.15am.

They cut the woman out of the car using hydraulic cutting equipment.

She was treated by paramedics from South East Coast Ambulance Service and taken to hospital.

Firefighters left the scene at 8.53am.

A SECAmb spokesman confirmed three ambulance crews attended and treated two patients who were taken to William Harvey Hospital in Ashford.

One, a woman aged in her 40s, suffered rib pain and supected rib and collarbone injuries.

The other, is believed to be a woman of about 30, who had shoulder and chest pain.

Both were treated at scene before being taken as priority patients to hospital but both were fully conscious en route.
