The body of a woman has been found at a house in Folkestone.

Police were called to the property in Black Bull Road yesterday afternoon following a report of concern for the woman's welfare.

But a police spokesman today confirmed that officers found the body of a 54-year-old woman inside.

Officers initially knocked on the door but received no response.

They eventually gained entry to the house, which is when they made the grim discovery.

Police said the death is not being treated as suspicious.
