Folkestone Invicta are flying and manager Neil Cugley hasn’t ruled out a tilt at the Ryman League Division 1 South championship.

Last weekend’s 2-0 win over Leatherhead knocked the Tanners off top spot and extended Invicta’s unbeaten home run to nine matches.

Only third-placed Peacehaven & Telscombe are in better form than Folkestone, whose manager has been thrilled by their recovery from a sluggish start to the season.

Cugley said: "We’re looking to get into one of those play-off spots, we’re not even halfway through the season yet, so you never know.

"We’ve got a lot of catching up to do. But we’re enjoying it and we’re playing good football.

"You can draw your own conclusion from what happened on Saturday. Leatherhead are a good side, favourites to win the league, and we beat them quite comfortably.

"It shows we can play and that we can get right up there. That’s pleasing. There’s no reason for us to worry about any teams."

Folkestone travel to Burgess Hill Town tonight (Wednesday).
