Folkestone Invicta have signed former Tunbridge Wells winger Jon Pilbeam.

Pilbeam was part of the Wells side which reached the FA Vase final in 2013 and he's become increasingly prominent for the Southern Counties East club in recent seasons.

Folkestone boss Neil Cugley said: "He’s a personal trainer so I’ve no worries at all about his fitness.

"He’s strong and quick and he’s already shown that he can fit in well with the way we play."

Folkestone have also signed versatile 20-year-old Jordan Wright.

Cugley said: "He’s done everything we’ve asked of him and done it well.

"We’ll see how things go and how much football he gets with us. He gives us cover, particularly at right-back, and it’s good to have competition for places.

"He played for Lydd last season and it may be that we can let him play for them again at times when it suits all three parties, but he’ll be training with us regularly and I’m looking forward to seeing how he progresses."

However, trialist Kane Phillip has been released and subsequently joined Chatham Town.

Cugley said: "I had to decide who we’d keep and having decided on Jon and Jordan, we’ve had to let Kane go."

Invicta kick-off their Ryman League Division 1 South campaign away to Three Bridges on Saturday.
