Excitement is building at Folkestone Cricket Club ahead of their first Kent League Premier Division game for nine years.

Folkestone, promoted as Division 1 runners-up last summer, start their campaign on Saturday with a trip to fellow new-boys Tunbridge Wells.

Andy Bray’s side haven’t featured in the top tier of the Kent League since 2009 and the captain can’t wait to get cracking.

He said: "We’re now playing at the highest level, against the best players and it’s a good place to be. Everyone’s excited.

"For the club to be in the Premier League means a lot.
