Wedding commitments have robbed Hythe manager Scott Porter of three key players for Saturday’s crucial home game against Redhill.
Hythe skipper Dave Cook is best man for team-mate Pat Kingwell (pictured), while defender Tommy Osborne has flown to the Caribbean for another wedding.
That means new signing Danny Lye, who left Maidstone last weekend, is set to start in central defence, while Porter may have to include several under-18 players in his matchday squad.
Hythe go into the game just a point behind Redhill in Ryman League Division 1 South.
Porter said: “We’re a bit light on Saturday but Danny’s come in and been superb. He’s going to play a big part for us.
“Danny’s full of experience. He’s got lots of qualities about him and he’s my sort of player.
“He gets about the pitch, he puts his foot in and he likes a tackle. He gives 100% and that’s what I like.”
