Folkestone boss Neil Cugley expects on-loan Maidstone striker Paul Booth to stay all season
Neil Cugley expects on-loan Maidstone striker Paul Booth to stay at Folkestone for the rest of the season.
Booth has moved to Invicta after falling down the pecking order at United and made his debut in the 3-2 win at Corinthian-Casuals on Saturday.
The 36-year-old scored the goal that knocked Invicta out of the Ryman League, Division 1 South play-offs last season.
Invicta boss Cugley tried to sign him then and finally has his man.
Cugley said: “I’ll be shocked if Boothy’s not here all season. Maidstone have got their forwards and I can’t see him going back now. He’s at an age where he wants to play football.
“I tried to get him in the summer but he wanted to see how things would go at Maidstone.
“He’s an experienced player and will be a big help to us. His movement’s good and he holds the ball up well and brings others into play. We like to get the ball down and play, which suits his style."
