Welcoming spring with a maypole dance

There was fun for everyone at the Vigo village school fair – but especially for the pupils who got to cover their headmaster in beans.

Roger Barber had cups of baked beans poured over his head by eager children at the Erskine Road school.

Emily Broadfoot was named the May Queen, and her princesses included Riley May Murphy, Sophie Perry-Knight and Maya Walpole.

There was also fancy dress competition, a traditional maypole, tombola, Kent Police with their dog unit, a fun and games area and performances from Zest Dance Academy.
