Accident near Bluewater

A man and a woman were cut free by fire crews after a crash near Bluewater last night.

Emergency services were called to the two-car crash on the A2 coastbound at about 6.20pm.

They used hydraulic cutting gear to remove the car roof and release the man and woman who were trapped.

The pair were not seriously injured, but were taken away by ambulance crews to be treated for possible neck injuries.

Two fire engines from Thameside and Dartford, Kent Police, South East Coast Ambulance Service and Highways traffic officers all attended.

The scene was clear by 7.05pm.
